There are several easy steps to taking your blood pressure with this monitor. First of all, avoid eating, smoking, and exercising for at least 30 minutes before taking a measurement. Remove tight-fitting clothing from your upper arm, and sit in a chair with your feet flat on the floor. Slide your left arm through the cuff and position the cuff approximately 0.5-inches above the elbow. On the cuff you'll notice a green marker; position this marker directly over the artery on the inside of your arm. Next, secure the cuff with the Velcro material. The cuff should make direct contact with your skin, but you should be able to easily fit your index finger between the cuff and your arm. Place your arm on a table so that the cuff is positioned at the same level as your heart. Rest comfortably in a relaxed environment for at least 15 minutes prior to taking your blood pressure measurement. Once you feel relaxed, simply press the start button and remain still. The cuff will begin to inflate and numbers will appear on the display as the heart symbol flashes. When the measurement is complete, the cuff will deflate, and your blood pressure and pulse rate will display on the screen. If you need to stop the measurement at any time, simply press the on/off button and the monitor will immediately deflate.  Excellent Product July 20, 2008
After 5 weeks of use every day twice per day, I am very pleased with this product. Works as advertised. Arrived well before I expected it, too.

 It was too hard to use! July 19, 2008
I was very enthusuastic about this product because of all the bells and whistles that came with it but I ended up having to return it because it was just too difficult for me to use it. I just could not get the cuff on properly for some reason and it would not function until it thought the cuff was on right... therefore I could not use it. It errored too easily. I ended up returning it and buying an Omron HEM-670IT Wrist Blood Pressure Monitor with APS instead and I am very happy with that one.

It does not fit my arm....my arm is under 9 inches....its worthless to me and I suppose its my fault but I didnt ask what size arm you needed. Didnt think I needed to....other kits I have bought have come with 2 arm sizes included. This one cost more then the others also.

This product was recommended by my doctor. It arrived and I found it easy to use and have checked its accuracy with my nurse several times and found it very true. I would recommend it for anyone needing frequent tests of blood pressure.

I researched several sites before making the decision to purchase the OMRON blood pressure monitor through Amazon. Amazon offered the best price. Other sites offered the same product for twice as much as what I paid here.
The instructions that came with the monitor are easy to follow, and in no time I had the unit set up. Using this monitor is very easy and I've been pleased with my purchase.
