Treating son's noodle addiction July 7, 2008 My son loves these noodles. The price on Amazon is so much better than what I pay in the grocery story, the choice is a no-brainer, not to mention the fact that often this brand is missing from the shelf. So every couple of weeks, I order another 12 boxes and that is an easy snack he can prepare himself in the microwave.
Fake Pad Thai? April 21, 2008 I eat quite a bit of thai, and this isn't like what you get at any restaurant I've ever been to... not that good.
The sauce is a bit too sour, there's not enough peanut, and basically no veggies. It's alright if you have only about 3 minutes to have dinner... and amazon sent these to me, and they had only about 1 month of shelf life... I got these to "have around", but with one month to eat 12, I am disappointed. At about $1 each, they aren't a bad deal.
Delicious! April 8, 2008 I got this pad thai during the spring clearance event, so I got 12 of them for $17 (I am very happy about the price). I just had the first box and I love it! After reading the comments, I tried the noodles without the sauce, but they were not sour at all. The sauce has chunks of mushrooms and baby corn, so it tastes like the "real thing". Still, this is just a boxed meal. I guess this is the best microwave meal (ready in 2 minutes) I ever had. However, the whole thing is around 600 calories, so not very diet friendly...
Surprisingly good! February 1, 2008 I ordered a case of this along with a case of Peanut Satay. After eating each, I must say I like this Pad Thai much better. I like the flat noodles more than the rounded noodles used in Peanut Satay. I gave this a 4 star but because I only found 1 cut piece of baby corn in the sauce package and because the sauce could use a little more spicy taste. Also, the portion is alright for a snack or a side dish. For a meal, it will not do, unless you add more vegies or meat to it.
Why did I buy 12?? January 27, 2008 I can't believe I bought 12 of these. I should've bought one from the supermarket and tried it before ordering this many from Amazon. And now they are just sitting in the pantry.
I cannot believe how badly this tastes and smells. It has a really strong fishy odor and doesn't taste like any Pad Thai I've ever had. The noodles are not rice noodles like they are usually with pad thai. They are egg noodles (I think). Anyway, they were a huge disappointment since I had good luck with the Annie Chun products. They are WAY better than these.
What a disappointment.
