too. . .grainy? July 9, 2008 Overall, I like the taste of these bars, but they're a little too mealy for my liking. I could taste the berries just fine, but the whole grains were almost overpowering the first time I bit into one of these bars.
I'd much rather eat a Clif's bar, I think. They have a more subtle flavor and aren't quite as mealy.
So yummy! May 25, 2008 I love love love Odwalla bars. I am a graduate student as well as a full-time teacher as well as a vegetarian, so these are a great nutritious on the go snack for me. For the calorie value, the nutritionals are great (fiber, vitamins, protein [other bars], omega-3's). Plus, they're yummy! I love that you can see and taste whole blueberries and cranberries in this bar too. And you can't get them cheaper per bar in the grocery store.
berries go mega odwalla May 18, 2008 These bars are delicious. I buy them by the case. Very filling and very fruity!
Other flavors taste better May 1, 2008 I have tried many, many such bars, so I know that many do not taste so great. I say that to indicate that my standards for taste is pretty low. I have to say that these bars were bitter and did not taste good. I would stick with the Strawberry Pomegranite or the Choc./Peanut.
Not too much March 23, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I ran across these at Target and figured I'd try them. I don't much care for the chocolate-type that seems to proliferate the energy bar shelves, and I used to like the Powerbar Wild Berry until they changed the recipe. These blended a delicious berry flavor with a decently moist bar to me to make a perfect flavor combination. Not overly sweet, but by no means bland, either.
Oddly, the first time I tried them, I thought they almost overcooked them, but as I ate the bar, I realized it actually added something to the taste, if that makes sense. One reviewer commented that it had a certain smell, and I think this might be it. Almost a grilled smell, versus a pan fried smell. (Hopefully this description doesn't deter you, as I like the grilled taste, as previously mentioned.)
Basically, if you like berry flavors, and are looking forward to something with a delicious but mild flavor, definitely give these a shot.
